Maize and Wheat Blends

Superfert Compound D (7147) Fertilizer is a basal blend applied to the soil at the very beginning of the growing season. In Zimbabwe this fertilizer is mainly used for maize, other cereals such as wheat and barley, as well as legumes like sugar beans. The large proportion of Phosphorus (P) in Compound D makes it a great fertilizer for root establishment as the plant germinates. In dry land maize production particularly, a good root system is a pre-requisite for a good yield. Sulphur (S) is the second highest contributor in this fertilizer, ensuring that the plant has good early growth, matures early and also gives a good yield. Without it, stunted growth is inevitable, and yellowing leaves can become problematic.
Super Compound D (DD/142814) is a high analysis basal blend. Our DD blend plays the same role as the Compound D Bulk Blend, but because of its nutrient value the application rate is halved. It is for this reason that the cost per fertilizer unit for Double D is lower. We also have the Superfert Wheat Blend 6:23:23, which is our popular wheat and maize fertilizer suitable for soils which need extra Potash (K) to reach a given target.
